So the last four months have really blasted by. The kids are back in school and we are in the middle of the fall running season. Unfortunately, my wife and I have opted to not do the Long Beach Marathon this year for other nearby races. She is doing her first duathlon in two weeks and I am debating on my next trail half.
There is definitely a crisp fall chill in the air, which has made for some nice runs at lunch. Beth has been running the trails out of Castle Rock while I have been running the Embarcadero. So you can already tell that she is going to be light-years ahead on the next trail run. We also began the Asylum training. I am not really big on some of the programs advertised through infomercials; however, we have had several friends try the likes of P90X as well as Beth and I trying Insanity. What has me intrigued is that it should help with my flexibility and agility as well as being a 30 day program (which of course you repeat); which is something I really need improvement in if I am ever to break the 8-minute half marathon audacious goal that I have.
You see, I need major help again with my core. For some reason riding my bike 60 to 80 miles a week and running between 20 to 35 miles a week hasn't done the job in the toning and weight department. I weigh the same as I did 4 months ago while eating the same. So expect a weekly update on how that is going.
So short and sweet this week. Have a fun run!!
